Who we are
Bell Equipment is a South African company that operates globally.
We design, manufacture, export, distribute, and support heavy equipment for the mining and quarrying, construction, forestry, agriculture, and industry sectors.
our values

Bell Equipment has a rich family heritage and culture built on the values of integrity, honesty, accountability and respect instilled by our founders.
Day-to-day operations and our long-term strategy are focused on five key areas: our customers, quality, our team, efficiency, and safety. Together they underpin our philosophy that if we help our customers succeed, so will we.
Bell aims to exceed our customers’ expectations by innovating environmentally responsible machine solutions that meet the demands of the market, set new benchmarks in sustainability within our industry, and make a lasting positive impact on the environment.
our people
Our people are the heart and soul of the business. Their skills and commitment
determine the Bell group’s ability to realise its strategy.
Engaging with our employees ensures they are involved and productive, helps to attract
and retain key and critical skills, and embeds an ethical culture throughout the
organisation.

our influence

Bell takes its responsibilities as a corporate citizen seriously, purchasing from local suppliers wherever possible and investing in meaningful outreach initiatives with a focus on education, training, and development, both internally and externally.
We strive for green leadership aiming for high standards of environmental compliance in our operations by integrating world class environmental principles into our business processes. This includes rainwater harvesting, onsite recycling initiatives and energy saving programmes such as solar power projects and the use of energy efficient lighting and air conditioners.
Aligned with the global shift towards environmental consciousness, we acknowledge the moral obligation to provide zero carbon solutions to address environmental sustainability and we are exploring various options to deliver low to zero carbon operations within our product line.
our story
Seventy years ago, Irvine Bell started a small engineering workshop in Empangeni to serve the local KwaZulu-Natal sugarcane farming community. Here is the story of how a humble company at the southern tip of Africa defied the odds and grew into a global
original equipment manufacturer.
Today, Bell Equipment operates in over 80 countries and employs more than 3 500 people worldwide. Its product range includes 47 machines, with 27 focused on mining and construction and 20 for forestry and agriculture.
